• Discovering St. Petersburg: stained glass windows, labyrinths of courtyards and the romance of roofs

We will find ourselves in the very heart of the city. Without any rush, we will explore not just the streets, but also hidden corners full of charm. We will peek into a couple of beautiful "paradnayas" (stairwells in historic apartments), walk through photogenic locations (we'll help you find the best angle for photos), and talk about tenement houses. We will also examine and discuss cathedrals, palaces, and mansions, and ascend to a viewing platform!

    What Awaits You

    • Millionnaya Street, also known as Bolshaya Nemetskaya. Here you will learn the history of the place—from the German Settlement to rows of palaces.

    • Stairwell №1. Turning off past the Moika River and Pushkin's apartment, we will find ourselves on Konyushennaya Street at the Sleztsov Mansion with its magnificent staircase.

    • Reaching the Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood on the Griboyedov Canal, we will examine the incredible ensemble of Syuzor's projects combined with the city's most important cathedrals.

    • And what about Nevsky Prospect? Just a bit past the Kazan Bridge? The Basilica of St. Catherine. The only basilica in all of Russia!

    • Stairwell №2. Along the way, we will step into a genuine historic stairwell with stained-glass windows and navigate through the labyrinths of courtyard spaces.

    • Panorama of St. Petersburg. To conclude, from a rooftop with a view, you will enjoy the cityscapes.

    What You Will Learn

    • Who lived in these stairwells and how, and why they still preserve the spirit of the time.

    • How ordinary courtyards differ from the ones we will show you.

    • What secrets the old mansions hide behind closed doors.

    • Which details on the streets of St. Petersburg tell more than any guidebook.

    • Our program will be enriched by themes of mysticism, Masonic symbolism, and secret societies that influenced Russia in the 18th–19th centuries.

    • The majority of the tour takes place indoors: in a mansion, tenement houses, and the basilica.

    • Children are welcome, provided the child is prepared for a lot of walking. The program is most engaging for children over 12.

    The Peterhof Road
The journey itself will be interesting: our guide will tell you about the construction of the Obvodny Canal and the former industrial outskirts of the 19th century, about the events of Bloody Sunday, the Narva Gates, the Kirov Plant, and the former WWII front line. You will learn the history of the old Peterhof Road, and also see the Konstantinovsky Palace and the Peter and Paul Cathedral in Peterhof.

"More Beautiful than Versailles!" - A Tour of the Lower Park
Is it true that there are almost 200 working fountains in Peterhof, and is it possible to see them all? You will find out on the tour and understand the difference between a fountain and a cascade. You will learn why every imperial country residence had its own Hermitage. You will walk along the "Water Road," appreciate the trick fountains, and, of course, the magnificent Grand Cascade.

The Brilliant Interiors of the Grand Palace
Can there be too much gold? Empress Catherine II held a different opinion. In the Peterhof Palace, you will walk through an enfilade of state halls and private quarters, admiring the lavish wall decor, painted ceiling murals, furniture, chandeliers, and sculptures. The guide will tell you about the stages of the palace's construction, the court architects, and the features of architectural styles from different eras. About the emperors who visited this palace and their tastes. Another topic will be the palace's post-revolutionary life and post-war restoration.
